Based in Melbourne, Australia, and with a support office in Shanghai, Davey Shearer Golf Design brings together the expertise of two highly acclaimed and experienced golf course architects – Ben Davey and Bob Shearer.
Ben Davey began his golf design career when he joined Melbourne based, Cashmore Golf Design in 1996 where he was the Senior Designer responsible for many of that companies projects in Australia, Vietnam and China. Ben started his own Golf Design practice in 2008.
Ben was fortunate enough to be raised in Melbourne where he learnt to play golf on the famous ‘Sandbelt’, home to many world class golf courses. This has left a lasting impression and he is very clear about what makes a great golf course. He also has formal qualifications in Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning and Environmental Science, all from the University of Melbourne.
Ben is a full member of the Society of Australian Golf Course Architects and a 20 year member of Royal Melbourne Golf Club where he plays to a single figure handicap.
